There is plenty to do in Charlotte this Fourth of July. There are several community fireworks shows to celebrate. Here is a list of the best ones according to the staff at Auston Woods, as well as some other things to do around town this Independence Day.
Memorial Stadium- Presbyterian Hospital July 4th Spectacular
Head down to Memorial Stadium on July 4th for Red, White & Boom! There will be plenty of family-friendly activities for all to enjoy including watermelon eating contests, sack races, tug of war and more! There's also live music and plenty to do for adults Activities start at 4 p.m. and last until 9 p.m., when the real attraction takes over. At 9:30 p.m., one of the area's biggest and longest fireworks displays begins.
U.S. National Whitewater Center Coca-Cola Fourth of July Festival
The USNWC is having a three-day music festival to celebrate the fourth. Admission is free, but there is a standard $5 parking fee. If you haven't checked out the Whitewater Center, it's an excellent venue for a concert or just to relax by the waterside.
"Night of Fire" at Carowinds
Carowinds theme park will be hosting their annual "Night of Fire" celebration with a large fireworks display. In addition, active and retired U.S. military personnel get into Carowinds for free July 2 through July 4!
WBT Skyshow 2011
This takes place in Fort Mill, SC, but it’s called "the area's biggest and best fireworks show." Tickets usually do sell out for this event every year at Knights Stadium.
