"It's not too big or too small, its like the right size, everyone is really friendly here," said Robbie Linklater, who just moved to Charlotte two months ago.
The latest Wallethub study finds Charlotte number 19 as the "Best Large City to Live In."
The study compares US cities in terms of livability, education, health, and economic growth and tax rates.
"We love the city, we love that it is growing so fast, we love the culture, it is really diverse," says one resident who moved to Charlotte two years ago.
"It's a small, big city," she described. "That's what I think about Charlotte."
"I love Charlotte more," said her husband.
Charlotte is also ranked among the fastest growing cities in the US by Forbes magazine.
Many tell NBC Charlotte, having professional sports teams, and NASCAR, are some of the reasons Charlotte stand out in the pack.
"Here we have every kind of sports, it's just really cool because we could follow so many different teams."
Some say Charlotte has potential to be the best city in the South.
