Baseball means springtime, and if you live in an apartment in Charlotte, NC spring is here! Join the Charlotte Knights as they officially open the 2014 baseball season and break in their new stadium! Even if you don’t have tickets to the game, you can help celebrate the start of the season.
Attend The Party in Romare Bearden Park. The kick-off event will introduce the 2014 Knight’s players and allow fans to get autographs. There will also be plenty of live entertainment including jugglers, magicians and an aerial performer. Festivities will begin at noon and will continue throughout the day until focus shifts to the ballpark for the evening game.
The team is in town for an eight game home stand so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to catch them. During the stand, the Knights will take on three different teams from around the International League including, the Norfolk Tides, the Durham Bulls and the Gwinnett Braves April 12-18.
Also, check out the ballpark murals at the new stadium, they are near the South Graham Street entrance. The murals were painted by Charlotte native, Scott Nurkin and were inspired by vintage banners commemorating past Charlotte teams.
Can’t catch the team while they are in town this go-around? They’ll be back at BB&T Stadium, April 22-25.
