If you live in an apartment in Charlotte, NC then you know we are also known as ‘Beer City’. Have you brought yourself around on a beer tour yet? If not, here’s how:
Day 1: Local Flavors
Discover Charlotte’s local flavors as you make your way through its growing craft beer scene. Start in the artsy NoDa neighborhood. Hop from NoDa Brewing Company to Birdsong Brewing Co. to Heist Brewery and explore each location’s craft beer specialties all within a one mile radius.
Then stop in at Growlers Pourhouse for delicious cold draftshot pretzels, homemade hotdogs and the very best Reuben. You can even try a cask ale from the 1936 refurbished hand-pump beer engine. Head to Salud Beer Shop to get a growler or create your own six pack made up of your favorite Charlotte beers.
Just down the street you can visit VBGB Beer Hall & Garden, the city’s first beer hall and garden with a modern twist. VBGB features giant sized games like chess and connect 4 as well as more than 30 craft beers.
Day 2: Hoppin' Around Town
On your second day, explore more local creations in historic South End. Hop on the LYNX Light Rail and make stops at The Unknown Brewing Co., Lenny Boy Kombucha and Triple C Brewing Co. Then check out Charlotte’s oldest brewery, The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. After OMB, get a flight at Four Friends Brewing in Steele Creek.
You’ll find other hotspots in South End like World of Beer, Good Bottle Co. and The Common Market, named one of the world’s best places for beer by ratebeer.com.
