It’s the third fastest growing city in the country, with tons of new people and new business moving into town every year. If you’re looking for a great place to build a career and eventually start a family, Charlotte is one city that’s sure to have you covered for years to come.

2. That Degree Will Take You Far In Charlotte

Though the unemployment rate is slightly higher than the national average in Charlotte at 7.6 percent, an inflated rate like this is typical for cities of Charlotte’s size. Charlotte is also one of the most educated places in the country with an 86 percent of the local population graduating high school, while nearly 40 percent of the population have also earned a bachelor’s degree and another 12.5 percent went on to complete a masters. Nestled in Mecklenburg County, the Charlotte area has more than 200 parks and facilities maintained by the local government, spanning more than 17,600 acres. This makes it very easy to find something to do outside here year round. You don’t even have to leave the city to have great work outs, as neighborhoods like Midtown are home to huge greenway trails perfect for jogging and biking. Of course, if you’re looking to do something that’s a little further from home, Charlotte’s close proximity to places like Uwharrie National Forest make getting some fresh air totally possible.

Home to plenty of hearty, mouth-watering southern cooking, it’s hard to cut yourself off at the dinner table in this city. There’s also this fast food place called Bojangles’—if you haven’t heard of it yet, you’re in for a treat.
