If you live in an apartment in Charlotte, NC you can enjoy the fourth annual 7th Inning Stretch Festival this Saturday. The festival is held each year as a "thank you" to the community for the work that goes into the American Legion World Series.
This year’s festival will feature a variety of events and activities, including live music, a 5K, the second Little Miss American Legion World Series pageant, a kids’ zone, a mechanical bull, a climbing wall and a corn hole tournament. The festival officially opens at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Here’s what you need to know about Saturday:
Uncle Kracker will headline the festival on the main stage at 8:30 p.m. following a performance by local band Dirty Grass Soul at 7 p.m.
Earlier in the day, Crest High School’s a capella group, Tonal Spectrum, will perform along with a drumline showcase featuring drummers from Burns, Shelby and Crest high schools. Those performances will take place on the local stage. Off the Wall will also perform on the local stage.
This year’s festival will feature local and regional food trucks. Most of the food truck vendors will be parked along Washington Street beside the court square.
The food trucks were added to this year’s festival to add more options in hopes of reducing wait times at the various restaurants and vendors in uptown Shelby.
A new storefront uptown, Signature Fine Arts Studio, will feature a booth outdoors, along with arts and crafts inside the studio.
This year’s festival will also feature designated recycling bins, additional picnic tables and several hand-washing stations.
