There's nothing like a view such as this!
Who knows what it is that captures us with the colors of Fall, maybe it’s seeing something so beautiful happen on its own? It’s as if someone has painted a beautiful picture and it never looks the same, year after year. Lucky for us we have the Great Smokey Mountains (a couple hours away), which is the most-visited national park in the United States. Did you know it’s home to 100 species of native trees? Maybe you feel like seeing Autumn else where, here’s a description of two other cities.
Aspen, Colorado – “I hear California is nice this time of year…”This town may have been famous before Lloyd and Harry, but they sure did make the town more interesting in “Dumb and Dumber” and no it’s not in California. But this town is more than just a winter wonderland; after all, it’s named after the abundance of “Aspen” trees in the area. Mid- to late September is ideal for fall foliage travel, but with the color change lasting just about a week, timing is everything.
The Catskills, NY – Dubbed “America’s First Wilderness,” this bountiful and beautiful region harbors a variety of trees – maple, oak, birch, and beech among them – that come into their prime during the last two weeks of September or early to mid-October, the ideal time for fall foliage travel here.
